BLUES FENCING COMPANY

Blues Fencing Company is an innovative fencing company encompassing clubs, performance training, products and events making this centuries-old sport accessible to a new generation of fencers of all ages and levels.

Headquartered in the beautiful and vibrant city of Cape Town, Blues has a global vision for the future of fencing ranging from products that make the sport more accessible, to new competition formats for all levels of fencers, and performance programmes that seek to produce world class athletes.

Established in 2012, Blues Fencing Club is one of the leading fencing clubs in South Africa. The club is home to a vibrant mix of national team members and new entrants to this sport.

ABOUT US



Patrick Collings
Is the founder and managing partner of the Blues Fencing Company. A former management consultant and lecturer in agile / adaptive strategies, Patrick is a senior South African coach whose students have medalled in international competitions. He sits on the National Council of SA Fencing, serves on the board of the statutory South African Sports Coaching Association, and is developing a club network for the Commonwealth Fencing Federation.


Nanette Spencer
Is a shareholder in Blues and a member of the South African national team. Nanette competed as an epeeist in the 2017 African Championships where she won a bronze medal as part of the SA women’s epee team. After time away from competitions due to an injury, Nanette is preparing to return to the competitive international veterans circuit. Away from fencing Nanette is the business manager of an academic medical laboratory.


Mikesh Harrilall
Is the club captain of Blues Fencing and a member of the South African national team. He has competed in two African Championships and a Commonwealth Fencing Championships as an epeeist. An actuary by training, Mikesh is a sports and educational entrepreneur developing a portfolio of projects, including several related to fencing. Mikesh is still an active international fencer, .


Enrico Di Giambattista
Is a shareholder in Blues who has bought his love of the foil from his native Italy where he trained with some of the top foilists of their time. Enrico is one of the top ranked foilists on the SA national and provincial competition circuits. Away from fencing Enrico pursues a portfolio of interests including being a partner in a popular Italian seafood restaurant in Cape Town.

Juniors: 4pm - 5.30pm Monday + Wednesday & 9am - 11am Saturday
Seniors: 5.30pm - 9pm Monday to Thursday & 12pm - 3pm Saturday
Open Bouting & Lessons: 4pm - 6.30pm Friday
